Born and raised in sunny (and cold) Alberta, Canada, Mantradevi now lives and works in her home studio in sunny (and warmer) California. She and her husband, Krishnadas, live at Ananda Village, an intentional spiritual community, based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda.
“My life is dedicated to helping uplift the world and to finding true joy within, both for myself and others. This quest continually leads me in two main creative directions: one – making art, and the other – teaching, counseling and leading spiritual pilgrimages.”
“I’ve been involved in a kaleidoscope of arts throughout my life: fibre arts, calligraphy, graphic design, co-owning a sign painting business, and, more recently, watercolor and oil painting. I am primarily self-taught, learning from books and a smattering of art courses and seminars along the way. Having lived and taught yoga and meditation for many years, I try to apply principles of simplicity, light and color to my art.”
Mantradevi’s art can be seen, and bought, at the Expanding Light Retreat Gallery in Nevada City, CA; in East West Bookshop’s Gallery in Mountain View, CA ; and through Fine Art America and Etsy websites.
Classes and Retreats:
Since 1979, through Ananda classes and retreats, Mantradevi has shared the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, showing people how to access their inner keys to happiness. The tools for this have come through yoga principles, emotional healing techniques, creativity and meditation. Inner Peace workshops, and other personal growth retreats have evolved over time, drawing from years of experience in teaching and counseling. The very best has been distilled into forms that will help students achieve maximum creativity, profound inner tranquility, and irrepressible joy in living.
Mantradevi teaches at The Expanding Light, Ananda’s Spiritual Retreat for Yoga, Meditation and Health. She and her husband also lead pilgrimage tours, currently to India, Spain and Portugal. See Ananda Travels.
